Wax

Wax ribbon is the most widely used ribbon in the barcode and label printing industry. It consists of a PET film coated with a wax-based ink layer that transfers onto paper or cardstock when heated by a thermal printhead.

How it works
Heat from the printhead melts the wax ink, which then bonds to the substrate. The result is a sharp, dark, and durable image – perfect for high-speed, high-volume printing.
